AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Jul 7, 2015) - BigLever Software, the leading provider of systems and software product line engineering (PLE) solutions, today announced that the company's founder and CEO, Dr. Charles Krueger, and vice president of customer success, Dr. Paul Clements, will play an instrumental role in bringing together product line engineering and systems engineering communities at key upcoming industry events. They will present sessions regarding the unifying role of next generation PLE, and facilitate collaboration between the two communities at the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Symposium and International Software Product Line Conference (SPLC) in July. Next generation PLE provides a feature-based approach and mechanism for sharing, assembling and configuring engineering assets from across the full lifecycle to automate and streamline the production of an entire product line.
"With the growing sophistication and diversity of products and systems being deployed across a spectrum of industries, product line engineering has evolved dramatically -- enabling companies to break down the traditional siloes and barriers that have existed between hardware, software, and systems engineering," said Krueger. "Next generation PLE enables organizations to reduce complexity and achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency, interoperability, and alignment across all aspects of creating and delivering a product line. By sharing our insights and experiences at these important events, we hope to build a stronger bridge between these engineering communities, enabling organizations to better leverage PLE to gain competitive advantage."
25th INCOSE International Symposium 2015
To underscore the importance of PLE in the systems engineering world, INCOSE recently selected PLE as one of the five most important new topics of interest. Clements will present a session spotlighting the expansion of PLE into the industrial mainstream at the INCOSE International Symposium (INCOSE IS), the largest annual gathering of systems engineers. INCOSE IS 2015 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue in Seattle, Wash., July 13-16.
Presentation: Product Line Engineering Comes to the Industrial Mainstream
Date/Time: July 16, 10:00 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.
Presenter: Dr. Paul Clements, BigLever Software
As members of the INCOSE PLE International Working Group (PLE IWG) Steering Committee, Clements and Krueger will participate in a variety of PLE IWG sessions and activities at the event. Event delegates can learn more about BigLever and next generation PLE by visiting the company's booth in the Exhibition Hall, Booth #E4.
19th International Software Product Line Conference 2015
Krueger and Clements assisted SPLC in initiating the creation of the first Systems Engineering Track for the 2015 event, and led the development of this track as appointed co-chairs. SPLC is the premier forum for the PLE community, rotating venues each year among Europe, Asia, and the Americas. SPLC 2015 will be held on July 20-24 at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The new Systems Engineering Track will feature papers, workshops, tutorials, and a keynote about PLE in the systems arena. This track will spotlight some of the most innovative systems and software PLE practices emerging in industry, including case studies featuring PLE deployments that leverage next generation PLE tools and methods:
