Sparta, KY, July 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Responsible NASCAR fans earned valuable rewards at Sunday's Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts at Kentucky Speedway. The track, Jack Daniel's and Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM) Coalition partnered with NASCAR to promote responsible drinking and traffic safety at Kentucky Speedway.
142 fans made the pledge to be a designated driver for their group. All of them had the opportunity to receive a free souvenir photo, instant prizes and a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the Race. One randomly selected, responsible fan will win the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. The grand prize includes a VIP experience for two to the next NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway.
"Coming to Kentucky Speedway is all about having a great time, and we want all of our fans to be safe both at the race and on the way home," said Mark Simendinger, Kentucky Speedway general manager. "We applaud these fans that made the responsible choice to be designated drivers for their friends or family this past weekend."
"Brown-Forman is committed to ensuring that fans enjoy our brands responsibly," said Taylor Amerman, a member of the Corporate Responsibility team at Brown-Forman. "It's important to plan ahead and designate a driver before heading to the track. We are excited to partner with TEAM Coalition and the Kentucky Speedway to more effectively promote positive fan behavior."
"The success of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign is a direct result of the commitment from our members and all the designated-driver program partners, including the tracks, beer companies and state offices of highway safety," said Jill Pepper, executive director of TEAM Coalition. "Teamwork is what this campaign is all about. We are demonstrating that when everyone - including the fans - takes responsibility, everyone wins."
