SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Jul 28, 2015) - Instacart (www.instacart.com), the fast-growing grocery delivery service whose personal shoppers hand pick and deliver items from trusted local stores, announced today that Central Co-op has selected Instacart as its exclusive delivery partner. Starting today, Instacart customers in Seattle can order all their favorite Central Co-op items -- from fresh organic produce and artisan cheese to a variety of bulk goods, and basic household items -- and have them delivered in as little as one hour.
"We are excited to be partnering with Instacart to offer delivery service to the Seattle area," said Wesley Barga of Central Co-op. "We chose Instacart as a partner because its system is really user-friendly, and the company has a great team of people. We are thrilled that we can now make our unique product offering available to even more people every day."
"Central Co-op is a unique Seattle institution, owned by the thousands of community members it serves," said Adam Fischer, Seattle Instacart City Manager. "We are thrilled to be able to offer a cooperative grocery store with such a dedication to great food, great prices and a socially responsible ethos on the Instacart platform."
Customers located throughout Instacart's Seattle delivery area will be able to order from Central Co-op, including neighborhoods Ballard, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Eastlake, Fremont, Georgetown, Green Lake, Greenwood, Interbay, Laurelhurst, Madrona, Madison Park, Northeast Seattle, Queen Anne, South Lake Union, South Seattle, U District and West Seattle.
Existing Central Co-op owners can enter their owner-number when placing their delivery order through Instacart and their spending will be attributed to their account for the purpose of determining patronage dividends.
Launched in San Francisco in 2012 and now serving customers in 16 markets, Instacart has fundamentally changed how consumers and businesses get their groceries. Instacart connects its customers with personal shoppers who shop for and deliver grocery orders in as little as an hour. This innovative delivery process eliminates the need for costly infrastructure such as inventory, warehouses, and delivery trucks and led to Instacart being named "America's Most Promising Company" by Forbes Magazine in January 2015.
New customers can sign-up at www.Instacart.com, and get free delivery on their first order. Central Co-op will also be giving away Klean Kanteens for the first 50 Instacart orders that come through. Future orders cost just $3.99 for two-hour delivery or $5.99 for one-hour delivery for orders over $35. Customers can also purchase a $99 annual Instacart Express membership and receive free delivery on any order over $35.
