Prophecy Healthcare(R), Inc. Unveils Job Analysis Validation Software (SNAP)

SNAP shortens online, validated exam development process by 70% through consolidation and automation of previously independent platforms.

GREENSBORO, N.C., July 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Prophecy Healthcare®, Inc., the leader in validated online healthcare competency assessments, announces development of new software solution, SNAP - a Job Analysis Validation Software. By consolidating and automating previously independent platforms, SNAP increases efficiency and accuracy, shaving off over 80 hours from Prophecy's intense content validity test development process.

"After a thorough description and demo of the software, I am very impressed with both the rigor in the job analysis process and the supporting tools and software that Prophecy has developed," reflected Maren Dollwet, PhD Organizational Behavior. "To my knowledge there is no other comparable software currently out in the market place that is as comprehensive in collecting job analysis data (competencies, job tasks, KSAs) as well as creating relevant data analysis and assessments to test for job-related competencies."

Prophecy's veteran Validation Team, under direction of Leslie Jeffries, RN, BSN, Sr. Vice President of Clinical Operations, outlined the specifications for software development. During the last 7 years, Jeffries' team has conducted 38 job analysis workshops resulting in 72 unique exams being added to Prophecy's extensive healthcare specific exam library. Over that course of time, a variety of tools were used to collect all the required information for successful content validity studies.

"Collaboration is key in product development," commented Scott Johnston, VP of Technology. "Due to Leslie's attention to fine-tuning the validation process to fit the needs of the organization, Prophecy's Software Development Team brought SNAP to fruition in just four months time."

Focused on refactoring only the necessary portions of previously used tools, the final product boasts a streamlined User Interface enhancing the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and facilitator user experience.

"This new tool allows us to perform all of the content validity functions 'under one roof', in addition to performing real-time inter-rater reliability analyses during the studies/workshops," explains Jeffries. "With the click of a button, we can remove outlier raters if necessary and conduct a repeat analysis in 2 seconds or less, which is just a fraction of the benefits realized through SNAP."

Exam validation partner, Texas Health Central Staffing Office, provided the first group of SMEs to benefit from the enhanced web-based platform during the official launch in Dallas, Texas on April 14, 2015.   Since this time, two content validity workshops have been conducted resulting in an additional four validated assessments being added to the exam library.  Utilizing the new software affords Prophecy's Validation Team more time to solidify additional validation partners for future content validity workshops.

Dollwet commented on Prophecy's onsite validation process with, "As an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist, I recommend not just the software tool Prophecy has created to assist in a full end-to-end job analysis, but also their facilitated process in engaging subject matter experts in well-designed 3-day workshops and validation process to ensure job-relevant, thoroughly validated assessments."

Additional benefits include backend automation ensuring knowledge domains are equalized for each assessment such as parallel content, equal number of items, and similar difficulty on each parallel assessment respective of each domain.  Real-time editing of items, job duties, and KSA statements, previously unavailable, are also built into the SNAP platform.

"Currently Prophecy's software and methodology has been deployed in the healthcare industry but I see its relevance and application expanding far beyond that into many other industries," added Dollwet.

Prophecy will attend the 2016 SIOP (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology) Annual Conference in Anaheim, California to discuss SNAP with industry leaders.

Shortening the content validity development process positions Prophecy to add more specialized clinical competency assessments, at a rate never before realized, to assist hospitals and healthcare staffing organizations screen applicants with Federally compliant pre-hire tools.
