ROCKWALL, Texas, July 31, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Associa and Associa Supports Kids (ASK) will be joining the Rockwall Home Depot's National Night Out event on August 4. This might be the only Texas venue celebrating the event with the rest of the nation on August 4. All other National Night Out events in Texas are scheduled for October 6.
The local crime and drug prevention event will take place on August 4 at The Home Depot in Rockwall at 765 east I-30 from 4 - 7 p.m. This is an opportunity for residents to spend the evening outside with neighbors and enjoy contests, prizes, games, crafts, activities, food and free giveaways from Associa and other sponsors, along with the chance to meet officers from the Rockwall police department. National Night Out is free and open to the public.
"As a national sponsor for National Night Out, this is one of nearly one-hundred events Associa will be participating in across the country on Tuesday, but the only one we know of in Texas since most of those events are scheduled for October," says Associa Director of Corporate Citizenship Annette Ratliff. "We are excited to see all the kids and hand out stuffed, toys, coloring books, ChildPrint ID kits and other fun items promoting safe and drug free neighborhoods in support of the Rockwall community."
NNO is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Associa Supports Kids is a value-added program for Associa community residents, designed to enhance the neighborhood community experience year-round.
