Susan Wojcicki, Industry Luminary, Keynotes Grace Hopper Celebration 2015 with Moira Forbes

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 18, 2015) - The Anita Borg Institute, a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in computing, announces that YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki will deliver a keynote at this year's Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC). She will be introduced by journalist Moira Forbes, who will join Susan after her keynote speech for an onstage conversation.

"Susan and Moira are both trailblazers with deep roots in technology, business and media -- fields that have a great deal of influence on our culture and the way women are perceived within it," said Telle Whitney, President and CEO of the Anita Borg Institute. "We're delighted to have these two industry luminaries and champions for women in computing speaking at this year's Grace Hopper Celebration."

Susan Wojcicki is the CEO of YouTube, the world's most popular video platform, used by over a billion people across the globe. Susan joined Google in 1999 as the company's first marketing manager and led development across several key consumer initiatives, including Google Images, Google Books and Google's multi-billion dollar ads business. Susan graduated with honors from Harvard University, holds a master's in economics from UC Santa Cruz, and an MBA from UCLA. In 2015, she was named to Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

"As technology becomes more important in our lives and in our economy, it's critical that women play a prominent role in the industry. I'm honored to deliver a keynote at this year's Grace Hopper Celebration to discuss how we can inspire girls about science and technology from a young age and ensure they have opportunities in our industry as they grow older," said Susan Wojcicki.

Moira Forbes is a publisher, journalist and host with Forbes Magazine. In 2008, she helped launch ForbesWoman, a multimedia platform with a website, digital community, forums and live events focused on women in business. She also founded the Forbes Executive Women's Board, a national organization dedicated to harnessing the collective power of women in business to drive sustainable change.

"I'm thrilled at the opportunity to speak at the 2015 Grace Hopper Celebration with Susan Wojcicki," said Moira Forbes. "GHC is an important venue to celebrate women in computing fields and their accomplishments. It's an honor to join so many talented women and speak about the importance of more women leaders in the business and tech world."
