Black most recently worked with a large commercial landscape company where he earned his LICM (Landscape Industry Certified Manager) certificate. He is currently president of the Coachella Valley chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) and is a member of several other professional trade organizations.
Growing up in Grass Valley, California, Black attended Sonoma State University where he majored in communications. He has a strong belief in giving back, and lends his time to support several charities including St Jude Children's Research Hospital where he sits on the board of directors for the Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament benefitting the hospital.
