Cask Certifies Its Cask Data Application Platform on MapR, Expands Apache Hadoop Distribution Support

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - September 02, 2015) - Cask, the pioneer empowering developers to build Big Data applications on Hadoop, announced today that they have certified their Cask Data Application Platform (CDAP) to support MapR, one of the leading distributions of Apache Hadoop™.

CDAP is an open source, integrated platform for developers and organizations to build, deploy and manage data applications using Hadoop. As a critical component of the recent CDAP 3.1 release, Cask now supports production users on MapR 5.0. With this announcement, CDAP now supports all three major Hadoop distributions, thereby providing enterprises and developers with a standardized platform for development of Big Data applications backed by a broad set of choices for production deployment. This represents a strong first step in MapR and Cask's partnership.
