NORTHAMPTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 8, 2015) - 3BL Media, a powerful communications platform used by Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits and NGOs to distribute their CSR and sustainability news and content to audiences that matter, announced today the acquisition of ReportAlert™, the corporate responsibility and sustainability report announcement and dissemination service founded in 2005.
The transaction was the third acquisition by 3BL Media in the past 12 months. Terms were not disclosed.
"As sustainability grows in importance for companies worldwide, the need to communicate progress around environmental, social and governance initiatives is paramount," said Greg Schneider, CEO of 3BL Media. "ReportAlert has been an effective tool for CR professionals and corporate communicators to officially signal that progress by publicizing that an updated sustainability report has been published. We are thrilled to integrate the business with 3BL Media."
During the past decade, ReportAlert™ has been used to distribute more than 1,000 reports on behalf of many of the world's leading companies, nonprofits and NGOs.
In May, 3BL Media acquired Dunstans Publishing, Ltd, the Canterbury, England, publisher of Ethical Performance, which has also been providing stakeholder communications services that support corporate sustainability reporting, in addition to other communications services for companies focused on social impact and corporate citizenship initiatives. In September 2014, 3BL Media acquired CSRwire, inclusive of its report announcement service.
3BL Media will immediately integrate the ReportAlert™ and Ethical Performance services and their distribution networks, creating a single platform for reporting companies with the strong North American reach of 3BL Media and CSRwire and the expanded U.K. and European audience of Ethical Performance and ReportAlert™.
The new, integrated report announcement service, which will be offered under the brand name ReportAlert™, will benefit from exposure on 3BL Media's additional web properties -- including CSRwire, Justmeans, SocialEarth, Ethical Performance and 3BLMedia.com -- and access to analytics that detail the online engagement around client sustainability reports.
ReportAlert™ will be distributed through hundreds of additional CSR, sustainability and mainstream websites including the Global Reporting Initiative, Ceres, ACCP, Net Impact, Ethisphere, Corporate Responsibility Magazine. Content distributed by 3BL Media also appears on the Reuters Insider platform and 325,000 Bloomberg terminals, in addition to thousands of consumer news sites and an opt-in email subscriber base that exceeds 200,000 investors, analysts, journalists, bloggers, CSR professionals, academics, policymakers and other thought leaders.
"Over the past decade, ReportAlert has developed into the brand more global corporates trust to announce their sustainability reports than any competing service. I'm delighted that with the investment of 3BL's expertise and resources it will now develop into something even bigger and even better," said Paul Scott, founder of ReportAlert and CEO of CorporateRegister.com.
Of the world's largest 250 corporation, 93% now report on their sustainability performance, according to GRI. Organizations publishing sustainability reports say their motivations include improving their reputation, meeting the expectations of employees improving access to capital, and improving efficiency through waste reduction and similar initiatives.
