NOVI, MI--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2015) - Remodeling your home does more than make sense. Sometimes, it makes dollars as well. At the Novi Home Remodeling Show, October 9-11 at Suburban Collection Showplace, find out all you need to know about home remodeling projects and why some make for a better return on investment than others.
According to a recent report published by remodeling.hw.net, replacing current windows with mid-range versions at an average cost of $11,000 will bring in a 72 percent ROI, adding nearly $8,000 to resale. The home remodeling project with the largest ROI -- an average 92.5 percent -- is a new garage door. At that rate, if the door and installation costs $1,689, then a person could expect $1,560 in resale value. A new, steel front door can bring in nearly 90 percent resale value.
Of course, not everyone who is remodeling a home is in it for the resale value. Many people need the extra room or enhanced features that can only come about through a remodeling project.
"The most common remodeling project is the kitchen," said Michael Stoskopf, CEO of Home Builders Association of Southeast Michigan, sponsor of the Novi Home Remodeling Show. "A major kitchen remodel falls right in the middle of return on investment because many people tend to design their kitchen around what is attractive and important to their family, as opposed to remodeling for potential buyers," Stoskopf explained.
No matter what type of remodeling project is in the works, a visit to the Novi Home Remodeling Show is an excellent investment. There will be hundreds of exhibitors, experts and opportunities at the show, dedicated to making your remodeling efforts worthwhile.
