Prescription Monitoring Programs (PMPs) are state-run programs that track the dispensing of narcotics and other prescriptions for federally controlled substances. Specifically, the South Carolina Prescription Monitoring Program, known as SCRIPTS (South Carolina Reporting & Identification Prescription Tracking System), is intended to improve the state's ability to identify and stop diversion of prescription drugs in an efficient and cost effective manner. PMP AWARxE is a HIPAA-compliant system designed to enhance flexibility in methods of collecting prescription data, ensure the highest quality and integrity of the data collected and significantly improve the end-user experience. PMP AWARxE also provides out-of-the-box capabilities to facilitate inter-state data sharing, and the ability to integrate PMP data into clinical workflows.
