BCAMA and AIM Announce Merger to Form Leading Marketing Association in British Columbia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Sept. 17, 2015) - The BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association (BCAMA) and the Association of Integrated Marketers (AIM) have today announced that they will merge into one association, effective immediately. The province's largest marketing organization will run under the BCAMA brand and organization structure. The arrangement signals a movement supported by both organizations towards improved, relevant and progressive service to the BC marketing community.

Moving into its 60th year, BCAMA's vision is to be the globally connected marketing organization, providing the BC marketing community with thought leadership, first-class marketing education, and top networking opportunities. The association appeals to every level of marketing professional involved in the studying, teaching or practicing of marketing principles.

"This merger, which brings together the people and strengths of both associations, will provide the BC marketing community with progressive, useful and inspiring content and career opportunities," says BCAMA President Kim Breakell Mech.

Mech adds, "Our industry has seen significant evolution and growth in recent years, and it is important that our association keep up with the pace of change. We want to provide our members, event attendees, sponsors and partners with the best possible value and impact - and we're confident that the merger with AIM will strengthen our ability to do so."

"Both the BCAMA and AIM serve common purposes: advocacy, through the promotion of marketing topics and discussions to broaden critical thinking; education, through offering leading-edge, professional resources and content; and networking, by providing venues for connection and collaboration," says AIM President Rob Dawson.

"Combining our collective resources puts us in a very strong position in the marketplace. It enhances the value that BCAMA can bring to members and will position the association on the leading edge of the marketing and business community."

Current AIM members will be able to transition their memberships over to BCAMA, through a special membership offer. In addition, three of AIM's Board members will be joining the BCAMA Board, to provide continuity.

BCAMA will soon announce its upcoming schedule of events for the coming year, including evolved content. For more information on BCAMA, visit www.bcama.com.
