The Masked Saint is a production of Ridgerock Entertainment Group’s newly formed Ridgerock Faith division and P23 Entertainment. It was filmed entirely in Northern Ontario, and is directed by Warren P. Sonoda, produced by Cliff McDowell, co-produced by David Anselmo and executive produced by Gary Granstaff and Joe Sisto. It stars Lara Jean Chorostecki (Hannibal), Brett Granstaff (as the pastor), Diahann Carroll (Grey’s Anatomy, White Collar), James Preston Rogers (Pixels) and WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in his last on-screen performance. Piper passed away of a heart attack in early August at age 61.
Inspired by true events in the life of Pastor Chris Whaley, The Masked Saint is based on the highly popular book of the same name by Whaley, which is soon to be released by Morgan James. The Masked Saint follows Chris Samuels, a retired pro-wrestler who becomes a small-town pastor. However, Whaley is more than just a pastor — he’s a masked vigilante on a mission to fight crime and help those who cannot help themselves. The Christian suspense novel carries a message of compassion and justice with a storyline that the whole family can enjoy.
Morgan James will be releasing The Masked Saint in January of 2016, just in time to accompany the release of the movie, which is set to premiere nationwide on January 8, 2016.
