CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Sept. 22, 2015) - Nsolv is pleased to announce it is an Honouree of Canada's Clean50 for 2016, and the winner of the Research and Development category award for Canada's Clean16.
Each year, Canada's Clean50 recognizes fifty leaders who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada. From that group, leaders are identified in each of sixteen categories to join Canada's Clean16 as the top contributor in their category. Nsolv's category, Research and Development, celebrates products and developments that have the potential to enable a more sustainable future.
"We are extremely proud to join Canada's Clean50 this year and are appreciative to the organizers for this recognition," said Joseph Kuhach, CEO of Nsolv. "Our technology offers a huge step forward for the industry by enabling environmental and economic sustainability to oil sands development. We look forward to bringing Nsolv technology to market."
Nsolv's patented warm solvent technology delivers a step change reduction in the environmental impacts of heavy oil extraction by eliminating water consumption while reducing energy inputs, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste. The technology's benefits are even more important in today's low oil price environment, by offering a higher rate of return on investment and producing better quality oil.
"Our criteria in determining Honourees is to consider carefully actual measureable accomplishments, demonstrated innovation, collaboration with other organizations, and the power to inspire other Canadians to take similar action," said Gavin Pitchford, Chief Talent Officer, Delta Management Group.
After 10 years of progress in the lab, Nsolv put the technology to the test with a pilot project that started operating in 2014. Earlier this month, the pilot surpassed a key milestone, producing 60,000 barrels of oil. Nsolv has proven technology, committed ownership, strong leadership and over a decade of experience. The company is primed for further partnerships, joint ventures and license agreements.
