Los Angeles, CA, Sept. 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Theradome Inc., creator of the world's most technologically advanced laser hair therapy helmet for home use, announces a new partnership with Breastcancer.org for October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Theradome Founder Tamim Hamid met with Vice President of Partnerships and Development for Breastcancer.org Rita Lusen yesterday to officially kick off their partnership and present a check for $5,000 to the nonprofit organization. With the launch of a special limited edition pink helmet, Breastcancer.org and Theradome Inc. will be working together to raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Theradome will donate a portion of all pink helmet proceeds to Breastcancer.org throughout the month of October.
"Knowing that many of the women benefitting from our convenient, at home device have undergone hair loss as a result of chemotherapy, it is important for us to give back to the breast cancer community and raise greater awareness on the issue," says Hamid. "As a leading online resource for women with breast cancer, partnering with Breastcancer.org seems to be the perfect solution."
Utilizing the concepts of Laser Phototherapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Light Therapy, the Theradome LH80 PRO stimulates hair follicles by improving the cellular metabolism and protein synthesis needed to build and maintain a healthy head of hair. Clinical studies report that most women wearing the device twice-a-week for 20 minutes see significant results in just 18 weeks.
"The fact the Theradome offers private treatments and can be used in the comfort and privacy of one's home largely increases patient compliance and thus maximizes hair restoration results," states Hamid.
Furthermore, clinical studies also point to the possibility that chemotherapy-induced hair loss could be prevented, reduced, and/or reversed by Laser Phototherapy through the same mechanisms that are clinically proven to reverse androgenetic alopecia.
Dr. Marissa Weiss, M.D., and President and Founder of Breastcancer.org, will be appearing on the Today Show on October 1st in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"There are studies that show that for many women, losing their hair is worse than losing a breast," she says. "That's because you can conceal the loss of a breast, but hair loss is so obvious and apparent."
