GOLDEN, CO--(Marketwired - September 30, 2015) - Demartek, an independent computer industry analyst firm with its own computer test lab, announces that it has evaluated the NVM Express (NVMe) PMC-Sierra Flashtec NVMe2032 Controller.
"We have been testing NVMe devices for a while and wanted to test the performance of a single NVMe device and compare it to a group of SATA SSDs," said Dennis Martin, Demartek President. "We ran a real-world database workload and found that one PMC-Sierra Flashtec NVMe2032 NVMe device outperformed an eight-drive SATA SSD configuration and a four-drive SATA SSD configuration in the same server. The NVMe device exceeded the performance of both configurations of SATA SSDs in terms of IOPS, throughput and latency."
This Demartek evaluation is available at: http://www.demartek.com/Demartek_PMC-Sierra_Flashtec_NVMe2032_Evaluation_2015-09.html and in the Demartek SSD Zone on the Demartek web site.
Additional information on NVMe and SATA is available on the Demartek Storage Interface Comparison page.
