Lubrizol LifeSciences Appoints IMCD as Exclusive Distributor
for Pharmaceutical Grade Carbopol® in Europe
CLEVELAND, October 12, 2015 -The Lubrizol Corporation's LifeSciences group announces that it has appointed IMCD as its exclusive distributor for pharmaceutical grade Carbopol® products. Lubrizol Advanced Materials' LifeSciences has signed a definitive agreement with IMCD to sell its pharmaceutical grade polymers in all European countries and Russia/FSU, several Middle Eastern and African countries, and Turkey beginning January 1, 2016. The scope of this agreement includes all Carbopol grades used in the pharmaceutical and medical industries. Previously, Lubrizol LifeSciences assigned individual distributors in each country. To promote this agreement, Lubrizol LifeSciences will attend CPhI in Feria de Madrid, Spain and will be part of the IMCD exhibit at Booth# 7F50.
Lubrizol LifeSciences' strategy has evolved from an emphasis on providing standard materials to one of development of end-to-end solutions tailored to customer needs. This strategy requires intimacy with customers as well as highly coordinated linkage between Lubrizol LifeSciences and channel partners. Although LifeSciences values the contribution from previous distribution partners, the decision was made to consolidate the existing distribution network into a single partner with full pan-EU/Africa/Eastern Europe Russia/FSU coverage. After considering all alternatives, Lubrizol LifeSciences decided that IMCD is best suited to accomplish the objectives in the new strategy. Legacy distributors will continue to supply customers until December 30, 2015. After this date all sales and technical support for pharmaceutical grade Carbopol will be done through IMCD.
