BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec, Oct. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sandoz Canada, which established a milestone in transparency by providing the first national report on availability of injectable medicines, is innovating once again with the launch of a brand new multi-platform application, which allows healthcare professionals to have this crucial information at their fingertips.

With just one click on their smartphone, tablet or PC, the Sandoz Pro app (sandozpro.sandoz.ca) allows users to view information on availability of injectable medicines. This new tool is designed for healthcare professionals and buyers who want to make the most of their time, as it helps them plan their injectable drug supplies and make informed decisions at all times.

The tool is simple to use: just enter the product name or code and the search engine will provide the medicine's availability status.

The application can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play and is also available at sandoz.ca. This is the first phase in the evolution of Sandoz Pro. The tool is upgradeable and Sandoz Canada will be adding new information and features over time based on user feedback.

"With this new mobile app, we're meeting the needs of clients who want a supply of injectable medicines, thereby facilitating sustainable access to affordable healthcare for the patient. This first in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry shows just how committed Sandoz Canada is to maintaining its position as a leader in transparency and information sharing," said Michel Robidoux, President and General Manager, Sandoz Canada.
