FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Chris and Nancy Michlin and the Back To Health Family Chiropractic team are honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special focus on whole body wellness care. Nancy Michlin, M.Ed., C.H.C. is the co-owner, C.E.O., and Health Coach for Back To Health Family Chiropractic. Michlin is also a breast cancer survivor and hopes others will be inspired by her story. She not only hopes women will be proactive about getting tested, but she also encourages women to embrace whole body wellness care as a means to improving their overall health.
“While most people are familiar with breast cancer, many women don’t take the necessary steps to prevent disease,” said Michlin. “It’s not uncommon for women who lead seemingly healthy lifestyles to believe they simply can’t get sick. I know, because I was one of them.”
As a Certified Health Coach, Michlin draws on her own experience fighting breast cancer to inspire other women who are doing the same.
“I thought I was living a healthy lifestyle, but when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, I realized that I needed to transform my entire approach to wellness,” said Michlin. “After learning everything I could about health and wellness, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering, inspiring and uplifting others.”
As part of her coaching, Michlin focuses on four pillars of wellness. Get On B.A.S.E.! (Breathe! Act! Smile! Eat!)
The first pillar, Breathe, focuses on learning the root cause of chronic illness, including how cells respond to thoughts, how oxygen fuels the mind and body, and how to create a game plan to combat stress.
The second pillar, Act, focuses on how to help the body stay fit by staying in motion. This includes learning why exercise is critical for good health and how to find time each day to move towards wellness.
The third pillar, Smile, focuses on how to adjust your outlook to magnetize your life. Included are insights to a healthier life and how to activate your smile.
The fourth pillar, Eat, teaches individuals how to nourish their bodies from within, eat outside the box, lose weight without dieting, and eat for better health.
In addition to working as a health coach, Michlin also delivers motivational presentations to groups across the state of Texas. Michlin has spoken to Medical City Dallas, Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, YMCA, Willoughby Half Way House for Boys, Over 40 Females, and Own Your Own Universe Women’s Retreat. She was also a guest on Love, Trust, & Pixie Dust Radio talk show.
Michlin and her husband, chiropractor Dr. Chris Michlin, provide whole body wellness care for patients at Back To Health Family Chiropractic, including Atlas Orthogonal and full spine chiropractic care, and food sensitivity testing.
