NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - October 21, 2015) - The new XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens from Fujifilm is the company’s second offering at this focal length, the other having a faster aperture of f/1.4. Constructed of 9 elements in 6 groups, including 2 aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements, the lens maintains a compact size while providing quality imagery. The lens’s construction helps to reduce lateral and axial chromatic aberration while increasing overall sharpness, and the Nano-GI coating reduces ghosting and lens flare.

An internal focus system works with a stepping motor to provide quiet and accurate autofocus in as fast as 0.08 seconds. Eight seals on the lens’s barrel help protect it from water, dust and other elements, allowing you to shoot in adverse conditions down to 14°F.

Also announced is the XF 1.4x TC WR, a weather-resistant teleconverter that converts the XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR lens to a 70-200mm (105-300mm equivalent on APS-C). Using the teleconverter causes one stop of light loss. Its optical design consists of 7 elements in 3 groups, to help maintain the optical performance of the lens.
