TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - November 12, 2015) - Nearly 500 princesses and princes will arrive on-site at the historic Old Mill for The Princess Ball in April 2016. The annual event organized by Wishes for Olivia is meant to both build a legacy in memory of Olivia Grace White, who died suddenly at the age of 5, as well as raise money for Make-A-Wish Canada. Tickets will be released for sale on November 17 and December 1.
The event, founded in 2014, will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Olivia, who died in her sleep on Boxing Day in 2012 of an undiagnosed blood infection, had a tender heart and a giving spirit, so her mother, Jennifer White, started The Princess Ball as a grand gesture to turn her tragedy into legacy. All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Canada to help other children's dreams come true.
"We know that Olivia would have loved an event like The Princess Ball," says Jennifer White, founder and organizer of the event. "It was important to us to find a way to keep Olivia's magic with us and in the thoughts of family and friends."
The theme this year, inspired by the movie Brave, is empowerment and bravery, showing that kids can be whatever they dream to be. This would have been important to Olivia, who, at such a young age, already felt that all children should have the same opportunity to experience a little bit of magic in their lives.
Sponsors and partners for the 2016 The Princess Ball include: Jakks Pacific, Home Trust Company, Breck School of Highland Dance, Glama Gals, Melonhead, Liquid Entertainment, Earth Rangers, Talbot Promo, and SongBird Marketing Communications, with more to come.
