NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 24, 2015) - Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide.
Technology giant ViewSonic will join Paw Prints in the Sand in its #GivingTuesday fundraising initiatives with an employee donation match challenge. The company will match every dollar donated by its employees to the rescue.
Paw Prints in the Sand will also be doing #TextTuesday to give supporters an easy way to donate via text. Donors simply text PAWS to 80077 to show their support for animals in need.
Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and holiday shopping season to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
"There is a day dedicated to retail shopping and a day dedicated to cyber shopping, but the holidays aren't just about deals and discounts. It's also about giving back, and that's what #GivingTuesday is all about," said Kelly Reeves, co-founder and president of Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue. "Our mission is to save animals in need. We are thrilled that ViewSonic will join us this year to help us achieve our fundraising goals, which will ultimately allow us to help more homeless pets."
"We at ViewSonic have always been committed to giving back to our community," said Jeff Volpe, president at ViewSonic Corporation. "We believe in the work Paw Prints in the Sand does to help homeless pets, and we are happy to help the organization with its Giving Tuesday initiatives."
