NuFACTOR's 2016 Annual Eric Dostie Memorial College Scholarship is Now Accepting Applications

TEMECULA, Calif., Nov. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NuFACTOR, the specialty pharmacy of FFF Enterprises, Inc. is welcoming applications for the 2016 Annual Eric Dostie Memorial College Scholarship. The scholarship was created in remembrance of Eric Dostie, a boy with hemophilia who was tragically murdered on August 27, 1994, at the young age of five. Eric inspired many lives through his uplifting joy, humor and unending love. His family recalls his aspirations of becoming a scientist and inventing a cure for hemophilia in the form of a "chocolate pill."

Eric's memory lives on through this annual scholarship awarded to students who either have hemophilia or a similar bleeding disorder, or have a family member with a bleeding disorder. "FFF acknowledges the financial impact that a bleeding disorder can have on a student and their family. This scholarship is intended to assist and motivate these students to pursue their goals of quality higher education," said Patrick M. Schmidt, chief executive officer of FFF Enterprises. "Founded in 1994, the Eric Dostie Scholarship has assisted several bright, young, and talented students in reaching their goals of higher education."

Each year, ten students are selected to receive the $1,000 scholarship. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college program. Each candidate is required to submit an essay describing how his or her education will impact humanity, encourage self-improvement and enrichment. The recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service and financial need. Last year's scholarship recipients included Alexis Mod, Angela Kessler, Austin Hanse, Calvin Dutcher, Evan Poole, Haylee Horn, Joshua Leland, Malia Jackson, Taha Ahmed and Tiffany Gagliardo.
