Tenth Annual Green Fuels Awards Honour Industry Leaders

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - December 02, 2015) - The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association (CRFA) honoured the hard work and dedication of industry leaders during a ceremony at the Canadian Bioeconomy Conference in Vancouver, BC. Presented annually by the CRFA since 2005, the Green Fuels Awards recognize achievements in the development, commercialization and promotion of low carbon renewable fuels such as ethanol and biodiesel in Canada.

"Green Fuels Awards recipients are respected industry leaders who help shape the future of our nation's bioeconomy," said CRFA Chair Jim Grey. The Green Fuels New Producer Award is presented to a new entrant into Canada's renewable fuels industry. Atlantic Biodiesel opened its new, state-of-the-art renewable fuel facility in Welland, Ontario, on June 25. The facility is one of the largest in North America, with a production capacity of 170 million litres of biodiesel and 15 million litres of high-grade glycerin per year.

The Green Fuels Industry Award is presented to an individual for outstanding dedication to the advancement of renewable fuels in Canada. Dr. Jack Saddler is a world leader in the conversion of forest residues into liquid fuels and chemicals. He sees the opportunity in Canada for biofuel and biorefinery technologies to bring about major changes to our sustainable energy future.
