MORRISTOWN, N.J., PARIS and LONDON, Dec. 2, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Louis Berger has announced a reorganization of its Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe and Newly Independent States operations into a consolidated Europe division. Effective December 1, 2015, Jesper Svarrer Damgaard will assume the role of senior vice president and managing director for Europe and will be based in London.

Damgaard has 22 years of experience in project management, business operations, engineering and scientific research. Most recently, Damgaard served as general manager for SMEC's marine and coastal business in Asia Pacific. He has held a range of technical and management positions with SMEC, COWI, WorleyParsons and HR Wallingford. In addition to his operational leadership experience, Damgaard brings a wealth of technical experience in coastal engineering and marine structures to Louis Berger, having published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. Damgaard earned a master's degree in civil engineering from the Danish Technical University and is a chartered engineer in the U.K. and a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
