EnerNOC and Australian Textile Mills Win Energy Efficiency Award

Company Highlighted for Best Demand Response Project

MELBOURNE, Australia, Dec. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EnerNOC, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENOC), a leading provider of energy intelligence software (EIS), and Australian Textile Mills, a major manufacturer and distributor of specialty textiles, have been honored with a National Energy Efficiency Award.

The National Energy Efficiency Awards are held annually and seek to recognize excellence in energy efficiency, cogeneration, and demand management. The awards are delivered by the Energy Efficiency Council (EEC), presented in partnership with the Energy Users Association of Australia (EUAA), and supported by NSW Office of Environment and Heritage. EnerNOC and Australian Textile Mills won the Best Demand Response Project award.

Through a combination of EnerNOC’s energy intelligence software and advisory services, Australian Textile Mills significantly lowered its annual energy costs by targeting temporary reductions in energy usage of equipment such as heaters, compressors, and ovens at critical times. This temporary reduction in energy use also helped reduce pressure on the local energy distribution network—helping to ensure continuity of electricity supply during peak usage periods.

Luke Menzel, CEO of the Energy Efficiency Council, commended the winners for displaying outstanding innovation, performance, and leadership: “Energy efficiency is the vital ‘fifth fuel’ that helps Australian businesses increase productivity, lower energy and maintenance costs, and increase their competitiveness.”

"Companies like Australian Textile Mills gain a competitive advantage when they deploy energy intelligence software to improve their energy management. EnerNOC's EIS is an ideal energy decision support system for enterprises to manage energy costs with the same discipline that they manage other major operating expenses,” said Christian Weeks, Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand at EnerNOC.
