SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - December 16, 2015) - Trustlook Inc., a leading global mobile security provider for the Android platform, today announced that it has closed a $17 million Series A round of funding. Founded in 2013, Trustlook is an innovator in next-generation mobile security solutions. Unlike traditional anti-malware and anti-virus products which address known viruses, Trustlook provides the first APT (advanced persistent threat) mobile security solution.
The financing was led by Trustbridge Partners, a leading venture capital and private equity firm, specializing in growth capital and expansion stage investment. New investors Sparkland Ventures and Linear Capital Partners, as well as existing investor Danhua Capital are also participating in the funding.
"This Series A round of financing allows us to continue our momentum in expanding our unique solutions into even more markets, with greater enterprise, OEM, and consumer coverage," said Trustlook Founder and Chief Executive Officer Allan Zhang. "Smartphones are the computer of choice for billions of today's consumers worldwide. This new funding supports Trustlook's ongoing expansion and continued technological innovation in the fight against cyber theft and malware, and gives our users the mobile security confidence they deserve."
"Security is becoming increasingly vital for mobile phone users," said Joan Zhou of Trustbridge Partners. "We are excited to support industry leader Trustlook as they continue to extend their presence in the consumer and enterprise markets, as well as the Internet of Things."
Today's funding will allow Trustlook to accelerate its product development. Unlike traditional mobile security offerings that simply scan for known malicious code, Trustlook is a truly comprehensive security platform for managing mobile risk. Trustlook identifies vulnerabilities before they become a problem, through forensics, security testing, malware analysis, endpoint protection and mobile intelligence data.
According to Allied Market Research, the mobile device security market is expected to grow to $34.8 billion in 2020. Consumers are increasingly realizing that existing security and mobile device management providers don't provide protection against advanced known and unknown mobile threats.
"Trustlook has been a leading innovator in next generation mobile security solutions," said Andrew Gu, Founding Partner of Danhua Capital. "By partnering with Trustlook, we're investing in the future of mobile to make sure it's a secure, trustful and delightful experience for both enterprise and consumer."
