Cramo Group’s C/S RaumCenter receives two large modular space orders in Germany
C/S RaumCenter, the German subsidiary of Cramo Group, has won two public sector tenders in Germany.
A two-storey residential complex for asylum seekers in central Großkrotzenburg
C/S RaumCenter, won the tender for a two-storey wooden modular building centrally located in Großkrotzenburg near Frankfurt. The total area of the building is more than 1370 square meters. The building has been designed to form a functional accommodation solution for 100 people.
"We were looking for a high-quality and flexible space solution which was realistic to implement from financial and time perspectives”, comments Ms Christine Fields, Head of the Building Department. "In addition to the durability and stability of wooden modules, we were further convinced of our decision when we learned that is was possible to add one additional floor to the building."
The complex consists of 48 new wooden modules. Energy efficiency and good indoor climate are just two main advantages for using wooden structures. The two-storey building can easily be extended with one extra floor when needed. The building is equipped with a fire alarm system and has safety and escape route lighting and exterior lighting.
The rental period is 60 months with an option to extend the contract with a further 60 months.
"The start of the project has been very positive”, says Ms Fields. "The municipality of Großkrotzenburg is very pleased that a functional and decent accommodation for asylum seekers is soon available.”
Modular school building in Erkner
A temporary three-storey modular school building will be built in Erkner, a small town on the southeastern edge of Berlin. The facility has an area of about 1500 square meters with a rental period of 22 months.
Due to the increasing number of students an extension was required to the Carl Bechstein Gymnasium. Instead of reconstructing the old school a new school building will be built. Until then, the classes will be held in the temporary three-storey school building delivered by C/S RaumCenter. The building consists of 16 classrooms, two music rooms and six workshop rooms.
"Crucial for the acceptance of the bid was the fast delivery of 99 high-quality modular space units”, says Mr Thomas Thurow, civil engineer and architect from Sander Hofrichter Architekten GmbH.
The order includes the groundwork, transportation, assembly and subsequent disassembly of the temporary school building as well as installation of agreed services into the classrooms. All ceilings are acoustic damping type for noise reduction reasons.
"We rely on the long experience of C/S RaumCenter for delivering complex school buildings built from modular space units", Mr Thurow concludes.
