Reiki services are now available at the wellness center as part of the practice’s commitment to providing enhanced whole body wellness care and drug-free pain relief. Reiki is a holistic Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing by activating unseen energy life forces that flow through our bodies. Rogers says that when these life force energies are low, we are more likely to feel stress and experience illness. Rogers recommends Reiki treatment as a simple, natural and safe option for relieving physical pain and improving whole body health and wellness from within.
Bunnie Rogers, Reiki Master, has joined the Backsmart Wellness Center team and is now offering Reiki services. Rogers was first introduced to Reiki when her grandmother was receiving care at Haven Hospice JFK in 2001. “Thanks to Reiki care, my grandmother was able to relax for the first time in ages,” said Rogers. “It helped relieve her pain in a way that no medication or other treatments could at that time.”
Rogers credits Reiki with helping to relieve her own chronic pain and other health struggles associated with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. “Since 2009, I have done yoga and Reiki work together, and this combination of care has transformed my life in a way that I could never imagine before,” said Rogers. “Previously, I was unable to walk on my own due to complications with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. Since becoming a Reiki practitioner and teacher, as well as a Certified Yoga instructor, I have stopped taking nearly all my medication.”
Today, Rogers says she is passionate about paying the gift of Reiki forward in order to help others who are also struggling with chronic pain and mobility problems. “Reiki has completely changed my life, and I am passionate about bringing this change to others, too,” says Rogers.
