Concurrent Technologies Corporation's George Appley to Discuss "A Sector-Specific Approach to Cybersecurity" at Pittsburgh Technology Council's Cyburgh Event

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Jan. 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation's (CTC's) George Appley, Senior Vice President, Technology Group, will be discussing "A Sector-Specific Approach to Cybersecurity" at the upcoming Cyburgh, PA Initiative event held by the Pittsburgh Technology Council and the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. The February 1, 2016, event is focused on identifying pain points, barriers, and solutions around people, processes and technology relating to cybersecurity.

George will be one of eight featured speakers during the "Innovation Hour" when local innovators discuss their existing cybersecurity solutions and ideas. "CTC is pleased to be participating in this inaugural Cyburgh event, which provides a unique forum for outreach and collaboration. CTC has been partnering with others on a 'neighborhood watch' approach to cybersecurity focused on small and medium-sized manufacturers in Southwestern PA. I look forward to sharing CTC's perspective that could be propagated via the Cyburgh initiative and ultimately serve as a national model in multiple critical infrastructure sectors."

Cybersecurity threats are complex and continue to outpace the solutions that many companies put into place. A "neighborhood watch" approach to cybersecurity allows companies to build networks based on trust, share mitigation and remediation strategies, and gain specific threat intelligence.
