NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AlixPartners, the global business advisory firm, congratulates Yogesh Bahl, Managing Director in the Financial Advisory Services practice, on receiving the annual Ascend Inspiring Across Generations (IAG): High Impact Leader Award. Ascend recognized Bahl for his leadership in the marketplace, commitment to community service, and for serving as a role model to Asian Americans and others in business.
Bahl has worked with Ascend, the largest nonprofit Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America, as a mentor and supporter since 2010. He was honored for his work with the organization as well as his longstanding dedication to women's rights, most prominently demonstrated by his work with the New York Asian Women's Center (NYAWC), an organization dedicated to empowering women and children survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault.
Simon Freakley, Chief Executive Officer of AlixPartners, said, "We are proud of Yogesh for his dedication and commitment to Ascend, and diversity in general. We warmly congratulate him on this honor."
"Yogesh works every day to help clients solve their most difficult challenges," said Holly Etlin, Managing Director and leader of AlixPartners' Diversity Task Force. "His work with diversity groups and dedication to issues that impact women, leadership, and community development are unwavering and are an inspiration to others."
Karen Elizaga, Chairman of the Board of NYAWC, said "I am so proud that Yogesh Bahl, a fellow board member and an inspiration to us all, has been recognized by Ascend for his numerous professional achievements, his hard work to improve the lives of women and children survivors of abuse with the New York Asian Women's Center, and his love for and commitment to his family."
"I am humbled by this recognition as I have always sought to give back and help others succeed," said Bahl. "I am deeply honored to be a part of Ascend's efforts to foster mentoring, leadership development, and an honest dialogue, all of which are phenomenally powerful. Whether it's through my work with Ascend, the NYAWC, or the other organizations I support, I believe that we can all help level the social and corporate playing fields by making strides, no matter how small, on a daily basis. In the current environment where we are all victims of gender and cultural misunderstandings, I believe a long-term solution lies in minimizing ignorance and supporting those less fortunate."
