RIDGEFIELD, Conn., Feb. 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Owl Computing Technologies, Inc., a cybersecurity solutions provider, will be demonstrating a number of different remote monitoring use cases at DISTRIBUTECH this week. Owl’s partner Cybirical is simulating a substation environment on the show floor and generating alerts that are passing through a secure perimeter provided by Owl’s OPDS-100.
Owl is capable of securely transferring files, alarms, alerts, SNMP traps, SIEM and many other data types in a Non-ERC solution. For the demonstration at Cybiricial’s booth (#963), a replica substation has been built that contains the relay and control equipment normally found in a substation. The OPDS-100 is acting as a consolidation point for all alerts and alarms generated within the substation, securely transferring them across the network perimeter and delivering them to remote locations. In this demonstration, Owl is using email as the delivery mechanism for the alerts and alarms.
At the Owl booth (#350), in addition to receiving the email alerts, the Owl OPMS browser based application will be running and tracking alerts from the OPDS-100. OPMS is another example of a way users can remotely view activity and transactions on the OPDS-100. Owl will also be demonstrating several deterministic, one-way only data diode solutions currently being used in power generation and transmission & distribution environments.
