SnoopWall CEO to Demonstrate Ease of Exploiting Mobile-Banking Account

Gary Miliefsky Will Be Among Featured Presenters at RSA Conference in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 15, 2016) - Just how simple is it for cyber criminals to exploit your mobile-banking account?

Gary Miliefsky, CEO of SnoopWall Inc. (www.snoopwall.com), the world's first counterveillance security software company, will demonstrate the ease of such a breach at this year's RSA Conference in San Francisco.

Miliefsky's presentation will happen from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. March 2 in the Moscone Center West, Room 3005. To make his point, Miliefsky will exploit his own mobile-banking account using a flashlight app, the kind many consumers find on the Apple iTunes or Google Play stores and install on their phones.

He and his firm have warned about flashlight apps -- and other apps -- before, pointing out that some of them can be used to spy on people or access private information thought to be secure.

"You should assume that most of your smartphone or tablet apps are malware that spies on you and your online behavior," Miliefsky says. "Do you really need them? Delete any apps you don't use often. Also, replace apps that take advantage of too many of your privacy settings with similar apps that don't."

Miliefsky is one of many presenters at the RSA Conference, which is scheduled Feb. 29 through March 4 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The conference helps drive the information-security agenda worldwide with annual industry events in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
