LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 23, 2016) - In a bid to promote the Dutch digital media industry, seven innovative media organizations from The Netherlands have announced the formation of a consortium to jointly enter the U.S. market and foster collaboration.
Dutch Media Innovators (DMI) is actively pursuing commercial and knowledge-sharing partnership opportunities with US-based organizations and individuals in the media, technology and entertainment sectors.
The seven DMI participants -- Corrino Group, 24i Media, TNO, Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Appromoters, Angry Bytes and MediaMonks -- are recognized as leading service providers and thought leaders within their respective corners of the media and entertainment industry, including content creation and distribution, app development and marketing and audio-visual technology among other cutting edge sectors.
California-based DMI spokesperson Suzanne Cox said the initiative presents an opportunity to foster greater business, people-to-people and cultural ties between the two nations, as well as open up opportunities for new commercial ventures.
"Huge worldwide growth in the media and entertainment industry is expected in the coming years, with one third of that growth anticipated to be in the United States," Cox said. "Meanwhile, The Netherlands is increasingly being seen as a cost-effective and attractive place to develop and test internet-based applications and digital services, with a growing and innovative start-up scene."
DMI will kick-start its two-year US collaboration project at the SXSW Interactive festival in Austin, Texas, in March, and is encouraging fellow participants, along with all potential US partners, to get in touch.
