DENVER, March 2, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Frontier Airlines is launching a contest that will give one lucky organization the chance to have its favorite mascot displayed on one of the airline's famously animal-clad planes. Beginning today, anyone can submit their mascot for consideration. Fans can then vote for their favorite mascot and share with friends and family.
In addition to having its mascot on the tail of a new plane, the winning organization will receive 20 roundtrip tickets valued up to $5,000. All voters will be entered to win one of nine weekly giveaways consisting of one round-trip ticket valued up to $250.
"We know Americans take great pride in their teams and mascots," said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president – commercial. "Likewise, at Frontier we take pride in the animals on our aircraft tails. We have 19 new aircraft joining our fleet in 2016, and we want to share the fun of choosing the animal on one of our tails with the communities we serve with Low Fares Done Right."
Fans can get involved by voting and submitting their mascot at flyfronter.com/mascotcontest. Voting begins today and ends on April 30, 2016. The winning mascot will be selected in May, and the new Airbus A320 family aircraft will make its debut in the fourth quarter of 2016.
One hundred five new aircraft will join Frontier's fleet through 2022. Some of the newest members of the fleet include Otto the Owl, Max the Lynx and Courtney the Cougar.

Terms and Conditions:
Grand Prize: With written consent of the school, club or legal entity whose mascot receives the most votes during the Contest Period, a depiction of the school, club or legal entity mascot will be used on a Frontier Airlines A320 family aircraft scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2016. The tail animal will be used for the life of the A320 family aircraft in the Frontier Airlines fleet. In addition, the winning school, club or legal entity will receive 20 roundtrip tickets valued up to $5,000. Frontier Airlines will announce the winner of the contest after the winning school, club or legal entity has been contacted by a Frontier Airlines representative and upon acceptance of the prize. Odds of having the winning mascot is based on the number of eligible votes entered for that mascot during the Contest Period.
The tail animal depicted must be a North American animal that is not a human being, and the tail animal will be a photograph, chosen by Frontier Airlines, of that animal. Frontier Airlines will not use a cartoon or fictional representation of the mascot on the airplane.
Frontier Airlines will use a real life depiction of the mascot. Whenever possible, and where permitted by the school, club or legal entity, Frontier Airlines will also name the tail animal for the school mascot. For example, if the winner is the University of Maryland Terrapins, Frontier would place a photo of a terrapin on the airplane tail and name it Testudo.
If the winning school, club or legal entity mascot does not have a name, Frontier Airlines will name the animal. For example, if the winner is Rocky Mountain High School's mascot, a Gray Wolf, Frontier would place a photo of a Gray Wolf on the airplane tail, but would have full naming rights.
If the winning mascot is not a North American animal, Frontier Airlines will designate the type of animal to be placed on the tail, and where permitted by the school, club or legal entity, will name the animal after the winning school mascot: For example, if Ellie the Elephant is the mascot, Frontier would select a North American animal and name the tail animal Ellie.
If the winning mascot is not an animal, Frontier Airlines will select the type of animal to be placed on the tail, and where permitted by the school, club or legal entity, will name the animal after the winning school mascot: For example, if the Richfield Rockets is the mascot, Frontier will select a North American animal and name it Rocket.
In all cases, the represented mascot depiction is found on the tail of the airplane, and the name of the mascot appears at the nose of the airplane.
Frontier Airlines has full rights to make the final decision on animal depictions and name on its airplane in the event it determines a name is unsuitable or inappropriate.
