NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Mar 7, 2016) - Global entertainment phenomenon Blue Man Group is holding an open call for talented performers to portray Blue Men in the group's Orlando, Las Vegas, Boston and Chicago productions on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Alliance Theatre (1280 Peachtree Street NE) in Atlanta, Ga.
Blue Man Group is offering talented men and women the opportunity to join its dynamic organization during a milestone year as the group celebrates 25 years of living full color in 2016. Blue Man Group performances are theater, ritual, comedy, rock music and dance party all rolled into one. Performers seeking to portray Blue Men must possess a rare combination of talents. Basic requirements include:
- Height between 5'10" and 6'2" tall (athletic build)
- Excellent acting, physical theater and improvisation skills
- Compelling and genuine nonverbal storyteller
- Drumming skills are an advantage but a good sense of rhythm is necessary
- Must thrive in a constantly evolving team environment on and off stage
- Willingness to relocate
Auditions can include but are not limited to screening interviews, acting sessions and drumming demonstrations. Callbacks will be held in Atlanta on April 27 and 28, culminating with finalists getting bald and blue. All Blue Man training takes place in New York City.
