FOSTER CITY, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 8, 2016) - LogiGear, a world leader in software testing solutions, today announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Hans Buwalda, will be a guest speaker at the Great Wide Open Conference, scheduled for March 16-17th in at the Georgia Tech Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hans is a pioneer of the keyword approach to testing and automation, widely used today throughout the industry. He is a frequent speaker and is lead author of the book Integrated Test Design and Automation.
Hans will address conference attendees first on Wednesday, March 16th at 11:30 am in the Back End Development track. His presentation "Integration Testing with Selenium" will survey Selenium as the open-source gold standard for web-based testing. Hans will also address attendees on Thursday, March 17th at 1:35 pm in the Architecture and Testing track and will lead a discussion called "Testing Integration with Selenium, A Tutorial."
Testing individual functions in an application is a straightforward process with Selenium. However, tests can become hard to design, manage, and maintain in a complex application when integration testing starts, and this is even further compounded when small changes in an application can easily break many of the tests. Instead of viewing this as a technical problem, one should focus on seeing it as a design challenge. Hans will discuss the best practices for test design-driven automation, and how domain language based approaches, like ABT (Action Based Testing with Action Words) and BDD (Behavior Driven Development), can serve as a basis for large comprehensive test collections that are easy to manage and maintain, for both the short and long term.
Corporate open source use is now at an all time high; it has doubled in the last 5 years to 78%, and is growing every day. Great Wide Open brings together top technologists, and decision makers to explore open source, open tech, and the open web in the enterprise. Great Wide Open, a conference hosted in association with Opensource.com, is aimed at UI/UX designers, front end and back end developers, DevOps, and cloud specialists, operations specialists and those wanting to know more about Open source.
