(OTCQB: SMME) -- SmartMetric will be exhibiting its cutting edge biometric safe payments card at the prestigious Smart Card Alliance Payments Summit being held in Orlando, Florida from April 4 to 7, 2016. On Wednesday, April 6 at 9am the company will be presenting a discussion of its biometric fingerprint activated card and its use in the payments industry.

The Payments Summit is the premier industry event covering all things payments, including FinTech, EMV chip technology, mobile wallets, NFC, contactless, open transit systems and more.

SmartMetric's biometric payments card has achieved an incredible reduction in microelectronics to fit a fully functional fingerprint reader inside an EMV smart card. The card user rolls their finger across a thin sensor on the card's surface which is used to read the person's fingerprint and match it with their fingerprint already stored inside the card. Following a successful fingerprint match processed by the SmartMetric miniature fingerprint scanner inside the card the card is turned on allowing it to be inserted inside a credit card reader or ATM machine. The fingerprint scanning takes less than 0.25 seconds making it even faster as well as being more secure than typing in PIN's etc.
