NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - March 29, 2016) - B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of the Sony DSC-RX10 III Digital Camera, a long-zoom model that sports a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 24-600mm-equivalent zoom lens featuring a bright f/2.4-4 aperture. The DSC-RX10 III retains many features of its predecessor, including a 20.1MP 1" Exmor RS Stacked BSI CMOS sensor with DRAM chip and the BIONZ X image processor. This combination allows for UHD 4K video recording, up to 40x super slow motion, and continuous raw shooting at up to 14 fps, along with a Fast Intelligent AF system that can lock on in just 0.09 seconds, enabling the user to photograph subjects quickly and seamlessly.

- 20.1MP 1" Exmor RS BSI CMOS Sensor
- BIONZ X Image Processor
- Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* f/2.4-4 Zoom Lens
- 24-600mm (35mm Equivalent)
- 2.36m-Dot OLED Tru-Finder EVF
- 3.0" 1.228m-Dot Tilting Xtra Fine LCD
- UHD 4K30 Video, Full HD 1080p at 960 fps
- Built-In Wi-Fi with NFC
- ISO 12800 and 14 fps Continuous Shooting
- Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization
The lens's optical design benefits from an advanced aspherical (AA) lens, as well as eight ED glass elements and a Zeiss T* coating to reduce flare and ghosting. The aperture diaphragm uses nine blades to create smooth, circular bokeh. Furthermore, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization can compensate for up to 4.5 stops of shutter speed, preventing unwanted camera blur due to camera shake at long telephoto distances. Macro shooting is possible with a minimum focus distance of just 1.2" at the widest setting.
A 0.39" 2.36m-dot OLED Tru-Finder EVF and a tiltable 3.0" 1,228k-dot LCD allow you to view exactly what you're looking for in nearly any position. A focus ring, zoom ring, and a de-clickable aperture ring allow for intuitive shooting, while a display panel on top of the camera allows the user to check settings easily without moving the camera. For added convenience and customization, 58 functions, including zoom assist, can be assigned to the custom buttons on the camera.
The DSC-RX10 III includes a BIONZ X image processing engine that supports 4K video recording, as well as other movie functions including ultra-telephoto super slow motion at up to 960 frames per second. The Sony RX10 III works well for wide-angle landscapes, close-up sports shots, and any situation that calls for a high-performing camera with an advanced zoom. Sony has integrated NFC and Wi-Fi into the camera, allowing for direct connection to smartphones or tablets with the PlayMemories Mobile app for remote control and image sharing.
Additionally, Sony has announced two new full-frame lenses, the FE 50mm f/1.8 and FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS lenses for E-mount mirrorless cameras, including the respected a7 series. The lightweight and compact 50mm lens offers full-frame shooters a normal perspective along with a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, an aspherical element, and a 7-blade circular aperture mechanism for smooth bokeh.

Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization limits the effects of camera shake, especially at long telephoto focal lengths, and an advanced linear actuator motor allows for quiet, fast, and exact autofocus. Dust and moisture resistance prevent inclement weather or unwanted dust from damaging your equipment.
