BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Apr 4, 2016) - SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, today announced its new Telecommunication Certification Body (TCB) solution to help manufacturers secure Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Industry Canada (ISED) Certification for RF devices more quickly and efficiently.
The FCC requires manufacturers that want to certify their products for sales in the U.S. to submit those products to a testing laboratory to ensure compliance with its EMC/Telecom requirements. However, a recent change to the rules requires the testing to be performed by an accredited test laboratory located either in the U.S. or in an MRA partner Country.
"We have added this TCB solution to our ever-expanding portfolio of capabilities in Wireless Compliance Testing and Certification to help manufacturers overcome the limitations of geography," said Paul Krauss, Certification Manager, SGS North America. "Our expertise, equipment and customer service resource capabilities are all under one roof, and that will help our customers significantly reduce the costs and the time it takes them to bring their new wireless products to market."
The FCC's recent decision regarding test data acceptance was part of the December 2014 changes to its Equipment Authorization Rules. According to its report, the rule changes were designed to "facilitate the continued rapid introduction of new and innovative products to the market while ensuring that these products do not cause harmful interference to each other or to other communications devices and services."
