Responsible NASCAR Fans Rewarded at Bristol Motor Speedway

Partners Promoting Responsibility at Track include NASCAR and TEAM Coalition

Bistol, TN, April 18, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Responsible NASCAR fans earned valuable rewards at Sunday’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The track and Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM) Coalition partnered with NASCAR to promote responsible drinking and traffic safety at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Before the race, 129 fans made the pledge to be a designated driver for their group. All of them had the opportunity to receive a free souvenir photo, instant prizes and a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the Race. One randomly selected, responsible fan will win the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. The grand prize includes two tickets and VIP Experience for two to the next NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“Coming to Bristol Motor Speedway is all about having a great time, and we want all of our fans to be safe both at the race and on the way home,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. “We applaud these fans that made the responsible choice to be designated drivers for their friends or family this past weekend.”

"The success of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign is a direct result of the commitment from our members and all the designated-driver program partners, including the tracks, beer companies and state offices of highway safety," said Jill Pepper, executive director of TEAM Coalition. "Teamwork is what this campaign is all about. We are demonstrating that when everyone – including the fans – takes responsibility, everyone wins."
