BOSTON, April 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marcia Wagner, the Managing Director of The Wagner Law Group, one of the country’s top ERISA and employee benefits law firms, announces that Livia Quan Aber and Ellen Stone, distinguished ERISA and employee benefits attorneys, will join the firm,  effective  May 2, 2016. Ms. Aber, joining the firm as Of Counsel, previously held positions specializing in ERISA and employee benefits  at law firms, a financial institution and a consulting company, as well as in the U.S. Department of Labor.  She has vast experience designing and implementing all types of retirement and health and welfare benefit plans, and structuring plan terminations.  Ms. Aber also has significant experience resolving complex compliance and audit issues and obtaining rulings from government agencies including  the DOL, IRS and PBGC.  She has advised on benefit plan matters arising in acquisitions and divestitures and is the author of “Employee Benefits: Communications under ERISA” - Drafting Employment Documents in Massachusetts (3rd Edition 2015).

Ms. Stone joins the firm as a Senior Associate with broad ERISA and estate planning experience.  She has advised clients on a wide variety of issues, including statutory, regulatory, fiduciary, administrative and operational issues related to qualified retirement plans, tax-sheltered annuities, nonqualified deferred compensation and welfare plans.  Ms. Stone has represented clients during IRS audits, drafted plan documents for qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, prepared private letter ruling requests, participated as a court-appointed independent fiduciary and advised on merger and acquisition issues.
