HOWELL, MI--(Marketwired - May 4, 2016) - Cleary University today announced that Ken Holland, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings, and Adam Genei, owner of Mobsteel and Detroit Steel Wheel Company, will keynote the university's signature event, Vehicle to a Better Future, on May 19, 2016 at Cleary's Livingston campus from 5-9 pm. The event will raise funds for new teaching and learning tools that will foster innovation across campus. Kevin Clark, founder and CEO of Critter Control, who will serve as the university's commencement speaker on May 21, 2016 in celebration of Cleary's commencement weekend, will also be honored at the event. Tickets for Vehicle to a Better Future are available to the public for $75 per ticket or $500 for a table at Cleary.edu/Vehicle or by calling 800.686.1883.
Prior to addresses by Holland and Genei, and dining and mingling with the Cleary Class of 2016, attendees can enjoy a "Signature Stroll" across Cleary's Livingston campus. The car exhibit will feature Mobsteel's vintage Detroit street machine creations, unique showcase and custom vehicles from owners throughout the region and new vehicle displays from local partner dealerships.
"We have created a fun and unique event that will give Cleary supporters and area residents the opportunity to hear from great leaders who are at the top of their fields," said Jayson Boyers, president of Cleary University. "Ken and Adam have enthusiastically jumped on board to help us raise the profile of this year's event and to support our vision for growth for Cleary and the communities we serve. Ken is one of the most recognizable faces in Michigan and across North America. Adam has a passion for Detroit that is unmatched. Both are great examples of people who support building bridges between education and business and who are committed to building great things in Detroit and beyond."
"The Detroit Red Wings truly appreciate Cleary's passion for building great," said Holland. "In many ways, we're very similar. Like Cleary, we seek skill and passion on our team. A large part of our organization's consistent success lies with great people that possess a strong commitment to excellence and who continually look to build great year after year. I am honored by Cleary's invitation to be part of this event and look forward to helping make it a success."
Genei added, "Education was extremely important in my home growing up, so I jumped at the invitation to support Cleary and this event. There is energy around Cleary that is sparked by a team of people who are passionate for what they are doing. They are not unlike my team at Mobsteel and Detroit Steel Wheel. We all want to build great things, and we want to do it in Michigan. For anyone that is working to revitalize Detroit, we want you at this event to support a university that is training the next generation of great business minds."
Boyers added, "We want to thank our many sponsors for leading by example when it comes to changing the local educational landscape and increasing opportunities for students. We invite everyone in our communities and across the region to join us for an evening of fun and to see what is happening on campus and what Cleary is doing to build a better future.
The Signature Stroll car exhibit will be free and open to the public from 3-9 pm on Thursday, May 19th.
