GLASGOW, United Kingdom, May 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In March 2019, the fastest men and women in Europe will travel to Glasgow to compete in the European Indoor Athletics Championships. The track they’ll run on was specifically engineered for indoor venues and designed to help them achieve their best times: a Mondo hydraulic banked track with a Mondotrack surface.

Glasgow was recently chosen as the event’s host city by European Athletics, the continent’s governing body for track and field. The venue where the championships will take place is Emirates Arena, which installed the state-of-the-art Mondo track in 2012.

It hosted the prestigious Indoor Grand Prix in February, and from 2013 through 2015, it was home to the British Athletics International Match.
