Following a call for tenders, Scania has awarded Rejlers the order to construct and install a new workstation for the truck manufacturer’s primer coating line in the Oskarshamn plant. The order is for a turnkey project that includes several disciplines within Rejlers, and the project will be staffed by specialists from different sites including Kalmar, Jönköping, Västerås and Uppsala. “We will make use of our local offices and work closely with Scania to discuss their needs and wishes in order to implement the project. After that, we will staff the project with Rejlers’ best consultants.” says Nils Börjesson, Group Technology Manager at Rejlers in Kalmar. The workstation measuring approximately 55 square meters will be constructed on part of the production line which is just a transportation route at the moment. Sections of the platform will be height adjustable and the entire implementation is based on a comprehensive safety approach. The purpose of the workstation is to fit masking tape onto the windscreens and side windows before painting. Rejlers will provide expertise in the areas of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering as well as PLC and HMI programming. Rejlers previously carried out a preliminary study which was used as a basis for the tender.
