CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - May 31, 2016) - The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) is seeking the nomination of local tech industry superstars for its 17th annual CityLIGHTS Awards. The ITA CityLIGHTS Awards is the premier annual event that celebrates and honors achievements from the local tech community. Because of the rigorous and balanced judging process, the awards have become a strong indicator of future success. CityLIGHTS award winners have amassed $51 billion in exits, $1 billion in IPO and $2.5 billion in venture capital.
"Chicago tech rocks! And it is important that we recognize and amplify the success and innovation happening here," said ITA CEO Fred Hoch. "As Midwesterners we are often the last to toot our own horn. This year's awards are all about shining a spotlight on and allowing Chicago tech to be center stage."

- Lighthouse
- Outstanding Technology Development
- Prominent Woman in Tech
- Rising Star
- Technologist of the Year

The finalists in each category will be announced on Monday, August 8 when public voting will open. The category winners will be announced on Thursday, September 15 at the 17th Annual ITA CityLIGHTS Awards event, the largest technology gathering of tech industry executives in Illinois and Chicago with more than 600 in attendance.
