Deutsche Lufthansa AG Selects QT Technologies Fueling Automation System

North American Deployment to Begin at Lufthansa's Washington Dulles (IAD) Operations

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - June 02, 2016) - QT Technologies (QT) today announced that Deutsche Lufthansa AG (Lufthansa), the largest German airline operating today, has selected QT's Fueling Automation System to enhance the airline's ramp fueling operations in North America. Lufthansa selected QT after an extensive review determined that QT's patented Fueling Automation System could significantly enhance the airline's fueling operations.

"Fueling systems and processes traditionally have relied on manual or analog technology and paper-based reporting, leaving room for costly errors and delays to both flight operations and accounting," said Wade Conley, President of QT Technologies. "The commercial aviation marketplace continues to be incredibly competitive, so solutions such as QT's Fueling Automation System are needed to better manage fuel-related costs, improve operational effectiveness, and reduce fueling-related delays."

QT Technologies has fueling automation systems in place with most of the major airlines and is deploying new implementations at airports nationwide and internationally. QT's Fueling Automation Systems have accurately pumped hundreds of millions of gallons of fuel into aircraft since the initial deployment. Additionally, the company has been testing its system at multiple Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) where fueling volumes are less, but still in need of highly accurate and automated fueling solutions for general aviation.

"In all of our installations, we have seen both measurable and immeasurable benefits for the airlines," said Conley. "With each station added, our customers see clear value in the fuelers being at the aircraft to begin fueling sooner, and with all improvements, saving approximately 10+ minutes of fueling time. In addition, the data shows a significant reduction of misfuelings and misfueling-related delays."

QT's Fueling Automation system includes a fuel data unit installed on fueling equipment or tanks and a handheld unit used by line staff to send and receive fuel ticket information. Eliminating paper-based fuel tickets enables the fueling transaction to flow seamlessly from the initial fuel request creation, to dispatching, delivery at the wingtip and real-time reporting to the cockpit, flight dispatch and fuel accounting areas.
