TransUnion Ranks Among Best in Identity Protection


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - June 08, 2016) - TransUnion (NYSE: TRU), a leader in identity theft management, today announced it has been awarded the 2016 Javelin Identity Protection Leader in Resolution. The award marks the second time TransUnion® has been honored as a Javelin Mobile Banking Leader.

Javelin's ninth annual Identity Protection Services Scorecard examined the health of the identity protection industry by evaluating 14 leading identity protection providers. All products offered by the providers were evaluated, with the highest-scoring ones being used for final evaluation. TransUnion's excellence in resolution was identified for its differentiating product offering in mobile fraud reporting and resolution assistance.

Javelin, a leader in analyzing identity protection solutions, assessed TransUnion's excellence in resolution by examining 19 key features, including fraud insurance, ability to access resolution help, lost wallet assistance and specific fraud resolution assistance.

If you are a victim of identity theft or suspect you may be, TransUnion offers three types of fraud alerts you can place on your credit report to alert potential creditors or lenders:

  • Initial Fraud Alert: If you are concerned about becoming a victim of fraud/identity theft, you can use this alert for at least 90 days.
  • Extended Fraud Alert: If you are a victim of fraud/identity theft, you can use this alert for seven years.
  • Active Duty Military Alert: If you are in the military and want to minimize your risk of fraud/identity theft while you are deployed, you can use this alert for one year.
