About the Author
For most of Michael Rudolph's career he has been engaged in the world of exercise as either an athlete (he played college football at Hofstra University), as a personal trainer or as a research scientist. Dr. Rudolph earned his B.Sc. in Exercise Science at Hofstra University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Stony Brook University. He then did a postdoctoral fellowship in the molecular biology of exercise at Harvard Medical School and at Columbia University. His research was a seminal contribution to understanding the role of AMPK, an important cellular energy sensor. Articles written by Dr. Rudolph have appeared in numerous peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Rudolph is a scientist-researcher at the New York Structural Biology Center doing contract work for the Department of Defense on a project involved national security.
