NEW YORK, July 05, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Greystone, a real estate lending, investment and advisory company, today announced it ranks #1 of top developers serving the affordable housing industry in Rural America. The rankings, part of the 2016 CARH 2020, were released by the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing, a national rural affordable housing advocacy and trade organization based in Washington D.C.
To achieve this #1 position, as of December 31, 2015, Greystone developed 1,384 units in 39 properties that provide affordable housing in a USDA-defined rural area or multifamily housing financed through the Rural Development Section 515 Rural Rental Housing Loan program. Greystone’s affordable housing development group has preserved over 7,300 units of affordable housing to date, and is currently working to rehabilitate another 7,800 units.
“It is an honor to have been named the top developer on CARH’s 2020 list for 2016. We take pride in our continued efforts to lead the development and preservation of affordable housing in rural areas across America,” said Tanya Eastwood, head of Greystone’s affordable housing development group, who was recently elected president of CARH for the 2016-2018 term.
“As an advocacy group that has represented the interests of rural affordable housing providers for more than 35 years, CARH knows how important organizations like Greystone are to ensuring low-income rural Americans can secure affordable housing. We congratulate them on this momentous achievement,” added Colleen Fisher, executive director of CARH.
